5 Minute Exercises: Reduce Stress, Up Your Energy

Stress. It's a symptom of our modern world, and it can really affect the quality of our lives. Luckily, there are some easy exercises (in tandem with some wonderful, meditative breathing techniques) to get us back on track, calm and revitalized. Dr. Johannes Liu, a longtime practitioner of TaiChi, meditation and Chinese herbal medicine is here to show us how it's done.

There's a lot to say about meditative breathing, and Dr. Liu will visit Future Nostalgia again soon to demonstrate. For now I'll keep it simple. Breath IN through your nostrils for the first part of the movement in each exercise, Breath OUT through your mouth on the second part of the motion. Got it? Don't worry if you don't yet feel like a QiQong Master. As Dr. Liu likes to say: "Rome wasn't built in a day. Just take the first step and give it a try."
